Construct the central cedar housing using mortise and tenon joinery to create a sturdy, weather-resistant core. This housing acts as the reservoir, holding the seed supply until the internal mechanical linkage triggers a release.

Fashion the rotating anemometer arms from weathered brass tubing, mounting them onto a central stainless steel shaft. Attach hammered copper half-spheres to the ends of the arms to catch the wind and initiate the rotation.

Install a miniature wooden gear train inside the feeder roof that connects the rotating wind-vane shaft to a fluted seed-dispensing cylinder. As the anemometer spins, the gears cause the cylinder to rotate, dropping measured amounts of seed into the feeding tray.

Apply a specialized chemical aging solution to the copper elements to achieve a rich, authentic Victorian patina. Final assembly includes sealing all joints with marine-grade spar varnish to protect the mechanical components from harsh backyard elements.
