Vintage Brass Ornate Astrolabe Seed Celestial Globe

Construct the main structure using thin, laser-cut brass or mahogany plywood rings that pivot on a central axle. This allows the outer rings to be adjusted, mimicking the appearance of a 17th-century navigation astrolabe.

Integrate a fine-gauge stainless steel mesh cylinder at the center of the spheres to act as the primary seed reservoir. Ensure the mesh is secured with brass gaskets to maintain the antique aesthetic while providing easy access for refilling.

Etch detailed star charts or zodiac constellations onto the outer rings using a wood-burning tool or CNC engraver. Once finished, apply an aged patina solution to give the wood or metal an authentic, weathered brass appearance.

Mount the finished globe on a weighted, decorative brass-finished base or suspend it from a matching ornate chain. Include a small, detachable catchment tray at the bottom to minimize seed waste on the patio floor.
