Vintage Patinated Copper Industrial Gear Seed Turbine

Construct the central vertical column using a turned hardwood core to serve as the main seed reservoir. Drill staggered apertures along the sides to allow seeds to flow into the internal distribution cups.

Fabricate circular gear plates from reclaimed oak, layering them to form varying platforms around the central column. Treat the wood with a dark ebony stain to mimic aged factory machinery and provide weather resistance.

Hand-cut copper sheet metal to create perimeter gear teeth and decorative mechanical trim. Apply a chemical patina solution to the copper to achieve an aged, verdigris finish that contrasts against the dark wood.

Assemble the components by nesting the wooden platforms into the copper rings and securing them with brass hardware. Install a copper cap on top to seal the reservoir and prevent moisture from entering the feed chamber.
