Neoclassical Marbleized Columnar Seed Pillar

Construct the main cylindrical body using a hollow cedar dowel wrapped in thin birch veneer to create a smooth, paintable surface. This serves as the structural column that will be finished with a faux-marble technique.

Create the capital and base using layered plywood squares routed with decorative ogee profiles to mimic classical architecture. Sand these pieces thoroughly and join them to the ends of the column using wood glue and dowel pins.

Apply a base coat of white acrylic paint followed by a sponged grey and gold veining technique to replicate authentic Carrara marble. Once dried, seal the entire exterior with multiple coats of marine-grade polyurethane for weather resistance.

Install four small, evenly spaced brass feeding ports near the base, allowing seeds to flow from the central gravity-fed chamber. Attach a removable conical roof to the top, secured by a brass screw, to keep the seed reservoir dry and accessible for refills.
