Construct a central cylindrical seed reservoir from thick-walled glass, encased in a framework of patinated copper rings that mimic the circular tracks of an antique astrolabe. Use a lathe to turn the wooden mounting hardware that connects the inner sphere to the outer orbiting rings.

Apply a chemical patina solution to the copper elements to achieve a deep, aged turquoise finish that contrasts with the warm, dark-stained walnut frame. Carefully weather the edges of the copper bands using fine-grit sandpaper to reveal glimpses of raw metal underneath for an authentic vintage feel.

Integrate a precision-weighted internal seed baffle that releases a small amount of sunflower seeds into the outer trays whenever a bird lands on one of the orbital rings. Ensure all moving parts are balanced on brass bearings to allow the structure to slowly pivot with the wind.

Mount the finished astrolabe on a hand-carved mahogany plinth, applying several coats of marine-grade spar urethane to protect the wood from moisture. Complete the assembly by attaching decorative brass finials to the cardinal points of the outer rings to secure the structure against strong gusts.
